Beginning Clay

If you are brand new to clay, or you are looking to build upon your basic pottery skills, this is the class for you!  Over eight weeks, we will teach you the basic steps and processes to make functional pottery forms.  We provide the tools, materials, and instruction for you to learn new methods in both handbuilding and throwing on the wheel.  Special attention is paid to thoughtful design, solid construction, and successful finishing techniques from trimming and texturing to glazing.  This is a time for creative exploration and a stepping stone to our intermediate and advanced classes.

Prerequisites: no experience needed.  Ages 18+ unless pre-arranged with studio staff.
