  • MAXT Makerspace 49 Vose Farm Road, STE 110 Peterborough, NH, 03458 United States (map)

Session 1- Students will learn the basics of preparing a framed base to mosaic onto and will begin glueing tesserae (mosaic pieces) to the base. Students will learn about different types of glues and grouts as well as the multiple modes of Andamento which can create movement in your mosaic design. Students can make their own pattern or choose one that will be available for this class. Students may also bring special tesserae they may want to incorporate into their piece. Students will finish glueing pieces to the framed mosaic base and will be grouted at the 2nd session.

Session 2- We will discuss how to choose a grout color for your piece and there will be a demonstration on grouting. Then students can grout their own piece to take home with them and can ask questions about how to go about planning their next piece.
