Leap into a new creative world with MAXT and The River Center! Our new joint program, Junior Creatives for starts it’s first session in January 2024.

Each session will bring new and exciting ways for middle schoolers to express their creativity, build some fantastic maker skills and work as a team to produce a final piece they can all be proud of!

Chapter 1: Board Game Bonanza

Wednesdays 3-5p

Jan 17-Feb 21 / Mar 6-13

Our intrepid adventurers will start their quest by exploring a variety of board and party games styles from our game library at MAXT.

Then it’s on to a design stage, working in two teams they’ll develop a game based on their own ideas, before heading into the Makerspace to turn it into a reality. 3D printing, laser cutting, button makers, design software and more will help them along their way to making multiple copies of a game ready for the tabletop.

Finally reaching the end of their journey, the prize of a gaming party where each team will get to play each others games. We’ll even add a copy of their creation to our MAXT game library to be played for years to come!
