This class will introduce beginning students to the safe and thoughtful use of the wood lathe. Here students will learn to easily create simple shapes while discovering how woodturning can open the door to an infinite variety of creative possibilities. The class will begin with a discussion of shop safety as well as a discussion of wood as a material.

Students will leave with a few small projects such as key rings, spinning tops, light pulls, tree ornaments, or mini baseball bats.
