In this workshop we will explore techniques for shaping and weaving durable materials like reed or ash splints, creating a basket designed for carrying gear, firewood, or personal belongings. The workshop typically covers essential skills such as forming the base, weaving the sides, attaching a rim, and adding straps for comfortable wear. Whether you're new to basket weaving or honing your craft, this workshop offers a blend of history, artistry, and practicality, ensuring each participant leaves with a beautifully handcrafted pack basket ready for everyday use.
Please register early to ensure staff has enough time to prepare your materials - this class has an extensive kit that has to be produced in house.
This class includes a 30min lunch break, please bring a sack lunch - there is a refrigerator on site
