Qualified Charitable Deductions (QCD) from an IRA or 401(k) or 403(b) account: +

If you have an IRA, a 401(k) or 403(b) tax-sheltered retirement account, and you are over 70½, a gift from your account is a simple way to support MAXT and reduce your taxable income.* Your gift is a transfer of funds from your account to MAXT, so while you do not receive a charitable deduction for the amount of your donation, it reduces your taxable income in the year of your donation. You may transfer up to a total of $100,000 per year (individual) or $200,000 (married couple), but gifts of any amount are greatly appreciated. For those over 73 who must take a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) each year, you can instruct that all or a portion of your RMD be donated to MAXT, thereby reducing your taxable income for that year. Contact the financial institution where your account is held and let them know you want to donate to Monadnock Art x Tech from your account.

Stock and Mutual Fund donations: +

If you have investments – stocks or mutual funds - that have appreciated in value, you can donate them to avoid capital gains tax and often take a charitable deduction for their full value.*

Planned Giving

There are several ways to make a future gift to MAXT to fulfill your charitable goals.Include Monadnock Art x Tech in your will or trust.

The most common way to include MAXT in your planned giving is to add a few simple sentences to your will or trust. An unrestricted gift ensures that MAXT is able to use the funds where they are most needed and where they can make the biggest impact. Simply ask your estate planning professional to add the following language to your will:

“I give to Monadnock Art x Tech, Peterborough, New Hampshire ____ percent of my estate (or the sum of $______) for its general use and purposes. Tax ID________________.”

Name Monadnock Art x Tech as a beneficiary of your retirement account

Most retirement plan assets, such as IRAs, 401(k) and 403(b) plans, are subject to estate taxes. Retirement plan assets are a great option for charitable gifts. All or a percentage of your retirement plan assets can be transferred to MAXT free of all taxes. To name MAXT as a beneficiary, first consult with your financial advisor, then instruct the plan administrator.

Name Monadnock Art x Tech a life insurance beneficiary

Life insurance policies purchased early in family life are often no longer needed in later years. By naming MAXT as the beneficiary of all or a portion of the proceeds of a life insurance policy, you will benefit by either realizing an immediate income tax deduction or a reduction of your estate’s tax liability.

We encourage you to consult with your financial advisor, attorney, or other trusted professionals to know which planned giving option is right for you.
