Thanks to all who attended our monthly meeting Monday! Next meeting: May 4th.
After introductions, Paul started with a review of a few of our shared shop policies, including:
Paul is looking for volunteers who are willing to help out with shop improvements. Only 1/3rd of MAXT's expenses are covered by membership fees. We are very reliant on our community pitching in to help keep our overall costs down. Participating in shop clean up and improvement days are a great way to do that.
Further discussion of the club - we want to hear from you - the club page is a great place to share news, ask questions, share class ideas etc.
We will also be adding bulletin boards to the shop that will display who our in house experts are, open studio times, resources like wood sources, and a list of shop improvements. We invite you all to contribute ideas to this list.
Finally, Paul led a demonstration of our sharpening station tools and how they are used. While we ask that only experienced sharpeners who have been approved by staff sharpen MAXT tools - we welcome you to bring in your own tools to sharpen at MAXT!
